Subject: The seminal work on Fretz genealogy
Subject: The seminal work on Fretz genealogy
This is the groundbreaking original genealogy of the Fretz family in America. Though a few of A.J. Fretz' assumptions have been updated upon further scholarship (Friesian, not Swiss origins of the clan- though he only mentions Swiss as a possibility), this is the starting point for family genealogy.
In addition to the valuable family history and lineage, the book is filled with anecdotes and speeches from the early family reunions. It is intriguing, and inspiring, to read the words of these distinguished Fretzes of old as they reflect on the family's values, and admonish future generations.
Note: in subsequent decades, additional volumes have been published. Contact the Fretz Family Association for more information.
